Booked the self-guided four days from Warsaw with two clicks and never had to chase anybody. Every transfer turned up. The Valbona pass in clear weather is something I will think about for years.

Self-Guided Adventure: Komani, Shala, Valbona & Theth
Overview
The Komani–Valbona–Theth circuit is the best four days of walking and boating in Albania, and also the one most likely to go wrong on your own: the ferry sells out, the Valbona pass closes in bad weather, and the guesthouses do not answer email. We book all of it, hand you offline maps and a phone number that works, then leave you alone.
Operated by Wild Tour Albania · licensed guides, insured boats
Highlights
- The Komani ferry and a Shala River detour on day one
- The Valbona to Theth pass — the classic Alps crossing, 17 km and 1,000 m up
- Three nights in family guesthouses with dinner and breakfast included
- Luggage transferred by road so you walk with a daypack
- Offline GPX routes, printed notes and a 24/7 support number in Albanian and English

Morning transfer to the pier, the ferry through the gorge with a Shala River stop, then road to Valbona. Dinner at the guesthouse.

Frequently asked
Tell us the night before and we will move you and your luggage to Theth by road for €35. Nobody is left to work it out alone on the mountain.
Patchy in Valbona, good in Theth, none for about three hours on the pass. Download the GPX and offline maps before you leave Shkodër.
Yes, Theth first works equally well and is slightly easier on the knees. Ask when you book.
